What is the mentoring program?
The Mentoring Program is teams of three referees working together, mentoring and being mentored, with the goal of helping each other to be better and gain the confidence needed to perform at higher levels.
Who is involved?
The Program officials are from all levels of refereeing in the Edmonton and District programs.
What is your commitment?
Before entering the program, each official must attend the pre-season meeting and figure out what you wish to gain from being in the program. You must be willing to learn from your peers, and give back positive feedback as we are all in it to learn no matter the level. Remember to work with your team to strive for perfection. Then attend the final meeting to see how your team has improved during the season, and personally.
How does it work?
You will be placed in a team of three. One Mentor and two Mentoree’s. Each month you will have one or more games with your team. After each game your mentor will sit down with the crew and provide feedback about the performance. The mentors will then set new goals for each of you.
How do I get involved?
If you are interested in the program, please contact us as soon as possible. We will be having our meeting in October.
